Lactobacillus Punica Granatum Ferment Extract is extracted from the product obtained by the fermentation of the fruit of  the pomegranate (punica granatum) by the lactobacillus (a strain of good bacteria).

It is a source of enzymes which have chemical exfoliating properties, but will not be as good as acids such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs).
